After All What Do We Really Get - Poem by RIC BASTASA

a house,
a car, a residential lot,
got no plane
or an island
a mansion, a submarine
i do not have them

and by all standards
i am not rich
and famous,
my poems thrive only
at Poemhunter
no publisher ever asked
for my work

and so when God asks me
to transfer to another place
i do not hesitate to say

THIS is our covenant
I go where he wants
to send me
even in places of
No Return.
