It's the day after Christmas
Now all the magic is gone,
No holiday songs are we singing
No decorations are left on the lawn.
People are no longer smiling
Or wishing Merry Christmas to one and all,
Nor are they kind and compassionate
After the Christmas pageant they saw.
The roads are now all crowded
With speeding, horns blaring and left turns,
People are disappointed and angry
With their Christmas presents returns.
It's the day after Christmas
Stores are all now having a sale,
Everything is marked way down
But, no more holiday cards are in the mail.
The parents are again getting up early
To go back to work once again,
Children excitedly tell their friends of their presents
While they all reminisce with a slight grin.
Now Christmas Day is just a memory
That we all will remember in our past,
That wonderful time of the year
Sadly 24 hours is all that it did last.
It's the day after Christmas
No good cheer is left,
People are now angry and fuming
Buying and receiving gifts that they now regret.
Now they clean up their houses
Putting the ornaments and mistletoe away,
It's the day after Christmas
It's now just another work day.
Christmas this year is now all over
All have lost their kindness and cheer,
Now it's just another picture memory
As they look forward for Christmas next year.
