poor creatures
always at the receiving
end of cruelties

the night i prayed for the
world's animals
that they would be delivered
from extinction, human iniquities

a bird of paradise flew into my dream
she came so near as if we were friends
and then i knew my prayers have
entered the realm of God and has been heard

he even sent the bird from paradise
flying straight to me, coming so close
eyes staring into my face
