After Rain Poem by Ulas Basar Gezgin

After Rain

The time after rain is the best to go out.
The dirty rivers turn into a sorrowful color,
The smoke has already left; the birds are back,
A smell of soil is around; a smell of nature; a smell of mother.

The time after rain is the best to go out.
The cats and dogs have cleaned and rinsed themselves
In order to throw away the dirt of life, they shake themselves off,
And then everybody forgets that this is the most polluted city.

The time after rain is the best to go out.
From the tree to the branches, from the branches to the leaves, from the leaves to the soil,
All the children of the nature refresh, they give new hopes,
It is as if the harmony of the trees and the sky came out of a painting of centuries ago.

The time after rain is the best to go out.
The inspiration is shed line by line from the river banks,
The fishermen stretch poems as their sail; moreover, they sail across poems.

If the time after rain is the best to write poems,
Then the most beautiful poem is the one that gets wet by rain.
