Afternoon Nightmare (Crossword Poem-I) Poem by R.K. Cowles

Afternoon Nightmare (Crossword Poem-I)

A false start
To a reel to reel
As the water works
Pounds through
Roots of an idea
While abhor scrapes tobasco
On a male urban caver
Which begins an audit trail
Which led to an okra farm
Caltivated upon white sands
Tended to by apes
Where an arson attired in fur tutu
Steps out of
A parents paved nasal bone
As Sly's bugle blares
At a dial on the radio
The bowler tilts it
For quarters to play free
Wanting no one to stay
To curl dots off the tar
Waking from another nightmare
Never again to embibe alcohol
Before afternoon nap
