Against A White Sky Poem by Vision Ghost

Against A White Sky

Happy I just came to the end, of my golden ale
Recalling a few, obligatory motions to set sail
Week ahead and a new structure, now in place
So much of a voice unspoken, for an aging face

Looking over my shoulder, and thought I heard
A voice I once recognised, but its was deferred
To another human being, to whom I knew not
Just another fitting into, a daily unknown slot

Yea I could ramble on, but at least I take the time
To conjure the insignificant, to fathom the crime
To always go the other way, to daily fulfilment
And yet never usher another, tangible filament

As it’s always the more I seek, from the plentiful
Maybe I’m greedy or just seek, what is beautiful
Return home with a tired body, memories in reams
To satisfy myself to know, I can go to extremes

Saw a face I once knew and yet couldn’t get close
So I bathed myself in past days, usual daily dose
Of reminiscing that I am yet, better off this way
Until something else changes, in yet another day

Neutral is great for a while, if it was ever in darkness
So no one can see that look in my eyes, so dreamless
But still I can think my own thoughts, without offence
Better off alone, this way so I can find compliance

Why do you set rules, when many set them for you?
So much control, and yet you could be so free and true
Spread your ever strengthening wings, and start to fly
Not a worry, you would always be against a white sky
