So I Am Arrogant? - Poem by Vision Ghost

Spinning me around again and I am falling away
Just how many faces do I make within the day?
I am now here just for all of you people to see
Seems like today as yet another begotten plea

There is not much choice, but to now be moved on
Into that darkness, until the very sight of me is gone
So why do you criticise, what you just don’t know
Is life so perfect for you, that I just have to now go?

Or have you so released, your inhibitions of thought
To deny any sense, of such individualism I sought
By any means that I might infringe, on your belief
Of what should be right or wrong, beyond my grief

Fight to keep myself against, your judgemental ways
The harsh and nasty things you say, for so many days
Of time so precious you waste, on accusing the other
Finding time in you to only imply, what you bother

Trust it’s nothing personal, but a habitual way of life
For you to sneer me in a way, to cover your own strife
I hear your voices playing, over and over again inside
Critical of what you don’t know, but I know you hide

Away from a face of your own, that you dare not look
Thinking yourself wonderful, something you mistook
As it never takes much, for a negative tongue to speak
But takes more to honour, in the perceptions of the meek

Please go on through life, and be a slave and subjected
Never free of your entrapment, of what’s implemented
By your own short sighted obligations, to render such pain
Upon those you can’t get close, to reap your personal gain

Being me is who I know myself to be, and I won’t change
Just for the sakes of your own, short judgemental exchange
After all it is just words, what exactly can you do to me?
Perhaps curl your lip, and long to set your own self free

For all those that have ever thought, I was less than you
Look toward to the future, and fathom when it’s all true
When the world cometh to an end, and you’re confused
I might be the one with answer, with the hurt you infused

People just don't like to see
    Others breaking rules
They feel they themselves must follow
So that they don't feel like fools...
