Against Both Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Against Both

Against both

With the life at its edge
Fear died, came flame
I stood and stand like a rock
To Shah and Clinton in Palace and White House.

They called me driver
In U.S.
Not of car but camel
(Thanks to shah; narrow-mind!)

Shah gave them all the oil
"You are dumb! " said woman
American by her birth and married to Iran
My great Heroine, you are right.

To people of Niger, Venezuela and Hijaz and Iran
We sold them a barrel and bought back one litre
Almost for same price…politics is corrupt…

The same shit has gone on
Does go on…is corrupt
And we face the insults…

It is enough
It is enough
It is enough

Where has gone the fairness?
Where are men of kindness?
And where are the brains?

Let's resist to both sides:
Corrupt of internal
Greedy external.

Mule and the horses
On their backs sat opium
Passed border and crossed
Clinton paid money to the lords
He and Shah and their likes
All are dumb; doubtlessly are corrupt.
