Against The Odds Poem by Sven Rhoads

Against The Odds

Be the stone that withstands the river
Flow like the wind on a whispering breeze
What will be will be as we're on our way
Never to spend life down on our knees

Taken by the hand of a brand new dawn
Lets not have history repeat or accept defeat
Taken by the warmth of the bright sun
Against the odds until we've won

She came to me with a smile on her face
Sassy and sarcastic but always full of grace
I swear she'd light up a room like the glowing stars
But just beneath the surface we see who we truly are

To fall and to rise are just trials on the road
The fight is never over if you rise again
I'd choose her company over so many and the gods
To always be there by her side against all the odds

Taken by the heart to finally feel again
Lets not just exist but truly live in the end
Come walk with me as we tangle into one
We'll go against all odds into the setting sun
