Aging Poem by Dorsey Baker

Aging

dry bones
by drought
salt and pepper
black hair turn
to white
the smoothness
of your skin
has left you
never to return
again
as you take a slower step
you begin
to feel just some pain
thoughts last long
sadness last longer
thoughts
last long
thoughts about
what was
about what is
