When rain drops down in cadences soft
It soothes the troubled waters of the mind
And strengthens Man to forestall the stormiest torrent
That's a miracle Nature performs recurrent
In the least miraculous way, like a fond mother indulgent
Up above the skies, clouds roll about
In majestic strides, flashing signals all around
Of sanctity unfading, springing out of self-extinction
Dying into a trance, dance of the clouds
Projects at once the agony and ecstasy of existence
