I speak not
As I feel
Speaking is not essential
Silence speaks for itself
...
I was born to a home
Where every body calls it Mr.X's home
I was married to a Home
Where everybody calls it Mr.Y's home
...
My life sails
Pass by, the days, months and years
Who keeps their records?
...
Perchance I happened to meet
One editor of a newspaper big
In conversation I told him
About my interest in writing
...
They rise in me
Like large waves
Overpowering me
I surrender to them
...
Ah! It is not rainy season
From where fell
The rain drops!
It is thirsty Summer
...
The days were waiting for you to come
Flowers were waiting to blossom
The breeze was waiting to caress the lovely branch
The roads were waiting for your feet to touch
...
Why does my spirit make a nose dive
Why should someone try to degrade me
I have every right to make myself happy
Engrossed in my writing world of creativity
...
When too many negative thoughts cloud my mind
When darkness seems to torture and torment
When I can not see a road ahead
When heart becomes gloomy with unbearable pains
...
Me, the earth
You see my beautiful face
The beautiful sky and greeneries
Lovely flowers and sweet chirping birds
...
I am put on the table
In the corner of your room
I smile my flowers
In different colors.
...

Born in the year 1962, I hail from Odisha, an eastern state of India.I always consider myself wannabe poet, though I have already published two poetry collections - one in my native language Odia and the other one in English.I am not a student of literature, but writing is my hobby and passion.I was a regular contributor to my school magazines.I sincerely believe that pen is mightier than the sword. When I browse through poems I very often want to read the Biography of the poet. The biography, the background of the poet gives insight to understand his/her poem. The factors like gender, religion, schooling, family history, education and his culture etc get reflected in his writings. When I do not find a Bio in the Poet; s page, I get disappointed. On Poem Hunter many are writing in their pen name or pseudo names for various reasons. It poses difficulty for the reader to understand his writings.Like I wanted to read Bio of other poets, Other readers may also like to read my Bio.So I decided to submit on this page. I am married and have 3 children.I have a Masters degree in Political Science from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. My schooldays were spent in Cuttack, my parental home. Poem Hunter has brought me closer to many kind and learned people around the world.I will always remain grateful to this amazing site and all friends across globe. I truly feel myself a global citizen. Thanks to all readers, friends and commentators for your kind support in my poetic journey. Edited on 29th December 2023-It is hightime I should edit my Bio to include my literary journey. My poems have been published in more than hundred books and e-books of national and international repute such as Splash of Verse, Setu, Romantic Summer Poetry, Modern Poets Anthology, The Tranquill Muse, Rock Pebbles, Orissa Review, Utkal Prasang, Creation and Criticism, Circular Whispers, Nova Literature-Poesis, PoetryAgainst Terror,56 Female Voices of Poetry, The Four Seasons Poetry Concerto, Tunes From the Subcontinent, Amaravati Poetic Prism, Glomag , OPA Anthology, Different Truth, , Pangolin Review, Poets and Poetry, Muse of Now Paradigm, Different Truth, The Brimming Birds, Cuckoo In Crisis, Mosaic of Poetic Musings Souvenirs of Best Indian Poetry in English of 2021 and the like. My published works are- Two poetry collections in my native language ODIA 1-PADMA PADA(Meaning Lotus Feet) 2-KICHHI KATHA, KICHHI NIRABATA(Meaning -Some Words, Some Silence) English Poetry Collections are- 1-Words Are Such Perfect Traitors, published by Authorspress, New Delhi(Late Poet Daniel Brick has written Foreword to this book) 2-A Day For Myself, published by Authorspress(Preface to this book has been written by American poet and translator Denis Mair) 3-In The Realms Of Love And Divinity published by Authorspress, New Delhi(Co-authored with German poet Dr.Antony Theodore) 4-Poetry And Friendship, published by Authorspress, New Delhi (Co-authored with Late American poet Daniel Brick) 5-Radical Rhythms, Vol-1, Vol-2, Vol-3 and Vol.-4(Co-authored with members of Cosmic Crew, i.e. a small group of women poets of my State Odisha and I have edited the Radical Rhythm Vol-3) 6-I have translated South African Poetess Adiela Akoo's book 'Lost In A Quatrain' into Odia language which is under publication.)
I Speak Not #153 In Top 500 Poems On 15th July 2021
I speak not
As I feel
Speaking is not essential
Silence speaks for itself
Even eyes speak
Speak thousand words my quivering lips
Unsaid words travel million miles
Sun speaks
Moon speaks
Speaks the thunderstorm
When hearts meet
Mouth says no words
Only the closeness knows
How louder is the heart
When it beats
Beating the loudness of sea-roars.
In Italian: Bharati è una bella Signora e Poetessa di squisita sensibilità, che padroneggia l'arte della poesia con le sue sapienti capacità, così da formulare splendidamente, attraverso la parola, le sue raffinate emozioni. In English: Bharati is a fair Lady and Poetess of exquisite sensibility, who commands the art of Poetry through her skilful ability, so as to express beautifully, through the Word, her refined emotions. _____________________________________________ Next Anthology, dear Bharati, will be a surprise to many..! ;) Cheers Fabrizio
Bharati Nayak is one of my favorite poets. She speaks in her poems from within her heart. Pure poems come from heart, not from head.
Thank you so much for your lovely respond on Women's Day 2024, by the way, my Message does not work, dear Bharati
Reply @Pravat Kumar Sahoo to his comment dated 17th June 2023-Thank you so much for liking my poems and keeping track of them.Yes, it took me great effort to understand the new format of PoemHunter.
Silence speaks for itself- but, you r not silent.I am not able to contact due to change in this site.YOUR poems are quite good to read.
Absolutely! Silence is the best speaker in the world, I opine so Bharati Mam.
Why I can not post any new poem on Poem Hunter? Do Admins at PH will guide me?
Poems are writ in heart without words- - we try to express them in words through poetry- -But can we ever really find the right words for the poetry in heart?
I am a piece of pebble Very ordinary Lying on the road side You passerby Perhaps Took a fancy Picked me up Perhaps You found Some color and beauty And so Took me With you Beauty lies In your eyes I am just a pebble Very ordinary Oh passerby! !
Love in its purest form is divinity and divinity in its earthly form is love.
Being opinionated is like a closed room where no free light or refreshing wind can enter.
The secret of happiness is lying within you and you have to decode it.
Poet's magic-when words are not there To describe the water or fire Poets magic weave one Fill the void And create such beauty divine.
If it were upto me to describe Bharti, I would call her a singer and not a poet.. Her poems show a magestic sense of simplicity and can be sung. For the past many months since I have been here, I have had the good fortune to read her poems and have always felt a beautiful sensation, a kind of an aesthetic pleasure that one would derive only from those works of pure art that are sublime... In short, sweet, splendid, and sublime - these are the adjectives that best suit Bharti Nayak's poetry.. If you read her poems once, you shall be back for more.
