Air Conditioner Poem by Mehreen Mujeeb

Air Conditioner

Under the shade of a tree
In the heat of summer time
She holds her baby
Dazes at the cars racing by.

She holds her baby
Holding her life in her hands
She sits under the shade of the tree
Because it’s too hot to stand.

She feeds her child
As tears meander through her eyes
Her dark hair covered in cloth
So she doesn’t burn away dry

Imagine her in the car
Turning the air conditioner on high
She will always be outside the window
Under the shade of a tree.

Fate, a mystery, will remain a mystery, anyway a good poem showing that you feel, you feel for others.
