Ajinomothoughto Poem by Ulysses Bandi

Ajinomothoughto

They’re everywhere,
In your sleep, in your dreams
In your ways and in your days.
You cannot cast them away
Nor can you lead them astray
They’ll always come back to you
Like butterflies to nectar.
They travel together
All huddled up in a maze of contortion
And trick you with visions.
They always come first in relation to an object
And remain till the object ceases.
Beyond that they still exist in an imaginary concept
Yet they don’t have a form
And prevail endlessly
Creating mirages and haemorrhages.
Insoluble, yet within the confines of space,
They traverse to and fro
Corrugating the seams of all that’s within.
A function they propagate,
A need they plant,
A desire they infest,
A sorrow they glean,
A tomorrow they prepare.
Without a precise pedigree
They rove persistently
Attempting to solve all that needs a remedy.
Without any infliction of torment or guilt
They stream unfazed into
The ocean of guilt and release
All betrothed to that impending misery
Driven by an intelligent quotient.
Redolent of eternity
They rage and wage with a retaliatory conscience
For conscience employs them permanently
And drives them to heights of calamity
And plunges them beneath the dirge of apathy
