Alas, My Love Poem by Jo Lynn Ehnes

Alas, My Love

Alas, my love, I'll wait for thee
until thy heart is whole once more.
Devotion's key will set thee free
amidst the airs of trust to soar.

Let wings of faith control thy flight
and glide thee through the healing rain.
May winds of comfort use their might,
displacing storms that still remain.

Then gaze into the clearing skies
and view the promised rays of peace.
The brilliant arc will light thy eyes,
wherein the tears of grief shall cease.

Then, as thy heart begins to feel
the hope that shines upon my face,
we'll understand the bond is real
and find the path to love's embrace.
