Alibi 1 (My Innocence) Poem by Tina Dang

Alibi 1 (My Innocence)

Rating: 3.5

Why must you question my love for you?
You question where I go and everything that I do.
All I've done was treated you with respect and loved you unconditionally.
But in return all I get is your nagging and nothing will make you think differently.
Everytime I'd tell you i'm going over to a friend's, then that's where I'll be.
You don't give me the benefit of the doubt, instead you have someone follow and spy on me.
You can choose to believe what you want to believe.
But one of these days, don't blame me for wanting to leave.
It's like a broken record playing over and over the same sad song.
This lack of trust, have been going on for way too long.
I don't believe in giving any ultimatums, but in this case maybe I should.
Because I know in a heartbeat, if the table was turned that you would, if you could.
You should have a lil faith in me without asking for an alibi.
In the end you will find that i've done you no wrong and will regret having said goodbye.
