Alien Poem by Jamie Ellen Christian

Alien

I am an Alien
Not of this world
I am the owner of my destiny
You are just a squirrel

Larger than life
This world can not hold me
I see straight through you
While you can not see past my shield

You see only what I allow you to see
Yet I see into your kidneys
You are blind
While I see vividly, ever so brilliantly

Make the mistake of sleeping on me
My secret weapon
a razor sharp boomerang
Comes for you while you sleep
You dream of me
Always there, subliminally
When you least expect it
I'm there awoken from your memory
You then wonder why
Can't I forget this wild creature
Remove from the mind
Because you recognize the rarest kind
Not of this world
An Alien
Crazy thing is, if you really wanted to
you could also refuse to be blind
