All Because I Opened The Pandora's Box Poem by Poireinganba Ningombam

All Because I Opened The Pandora's Box

Timeline! Lately, I am made to face the very gruesome realisation about this thing called ‘Timeline'. Every fabric of life events, happy or sad, is being woven treacherously at the very precipice of it. Ten years ago, I was free. Today I am free. Same, yet so different. The whole perspective of life changes at the blink of an eye. The coffee turned darker each and every tickle. The sanely insane mind withered to a state of insanely sane. Sometimes, it almost feels like a long free falling with an ultimate sacrificial death.

Eyes dimmed with experiences and expectations,
and eyes glimmered with hope and anticipation.
The feeling of being embraced as the kid who once lived vibrant and clear,
and the kid who sulked into absolute melancholy.
The graceful tears, and the weary smiles,
Many a path called with loving hands,
And I bid a ‘nay' with jittery laughs,
The beauty though, at such a time, are the sarcasm loins that knock my senses,
Of logics and emotions, of love and attachment,
Of life and death, of existence and oblivion,
Of A Date with the Diary,
and of A Dandelion's Tale,
And My Poetry died,
And Punshilok and the Lost Poet in Me.

I am not dead, I never was.
But long have I been asleep,
for I see blurred, and weary,
If my self sees of me, he shall cry a thousand moons and suns,
Is it gloomy, is it sad?
Nay, I am gay, and I dance with death.

Life is flickering as this trance. Started as a journal, a diary entry with simplified thoughts and understandings, set awhirl a rupture of emotions, poetry- raw and clear like it should be. But ask me of what I wrote, and I know not, for I am no longer the man who danced a while ago. This is the way of art, the way with artist. It's a pleasant curse we are indebted with. I know not where and how, but it must be all because I opened the Pandora's Box.
