Poireinganba Ningombam Poems

Free floating on a plank of half-oblivion,
Merrily does he sway around.
As flamboyant as the cloud,
His laughter fills the vast sky loud,

A Man With Nothing But Burdens.

Free floating on a plank of half-oblivion,
Merrily does he sway around.
As flamboyant as the cloud,
His laughter fills the vast sky loud,
Swimming in the vast sea of innocence,
His eyes sparkle ember bright.

A child is naught a man
with nothing but burdens.
Sweeter than the sweetest scent,
is his presence upon her lap.
Jumping and running, to heart's content,
He collects each and every pearl of life.

Alas! Time is but a fleeting friend.
Each and every happy wound he earns,
Takes away a cent of innocence he's got.
Soon enough, as he ages into the walk of life,
His eyes shall turn dimmer, his smile fader.
And, shall he be finally- a man with nothing but burdens!
