All That Energy... Poem by Dieter Ian Maree

All That Energy...

All that energy …

Relentlessly pursued by who am I and who I wanna be…
Thrust into the abyss of where I am and where I should be
Driven by an unknown Source not of this world
An ancient sensitivity causing more pleasure than pain
With all that energy, what am I to gain?

Creativity abound with no boundaries in sight.
What good is being bold in moments of unpretentious delight?
Where will new horizons end with nothing more to seek
When all that energy sometimes leaves me weak

Haunted by mortal thoughts of death and despair.
Thank God, I am not trapped by words in a silent vacuum
because I don`t care…
With no balance or restraint, I shall forever pit endless imagination
against gruesomereality …
When all that energy sustains my only dare…

All That Energy...
