I see something wonderful
A real fine piece of work
Something that is beautiful
But in the shadows it lurks
Not wanting to be in the spotlight
Staying in its solitude
Not from angst or fright
Or an impossible attitude
But for its peace and safety
It stays right there
And with its bright entity
With me, it only shares
It tells me about a life
Filled with things unique to it
Happiness, mindfulness, but with rage and strife
Looking into my eyes, and seeing quite a bit
It takes me into its space
And shows me everything that it sees true
And in return for its enormous trace
I tell it something new
I tell it what I can see
In this time that we shall share
And potential of what we could be
Is a feeling we can not spare
They say we meet people for a reason
To learn something new
That will help us change like the seasons
And grow into something even more true
Though I have been in bad places before
As have you as well
I know that you are something I cannot ignore.
That is all that is needed to tell.
