All That Remains Poem by Panda Broussard

All That Remains

I breathe in,
I breathe out.
I am an empty shell,
No strength, all doubt.
Mistakes consuming
My troubled mind.
My feet no longer travel,
Only pain resides.
Each breath is needed,
But at what cost.
To remain filled with pain,
Suffering is a loss.
Closing my eyes,
I focus on love.
Remembering it's sparkle,
It's beautiful glow.
The warmth it gave,
Was a gift from above.
I rather have a memory,
Then never known love.
I can dream when I sleep,
Of love so tender and so deep.
If it comes, sleep let me be,
To escape this hell,
And set me free.
To smile and dance,
And be lifted high.
Under the moon,
Then let me die.
To live without love,
Is a painful mistake.
To live in pain,
Is the price I pay.
It is what I deserve,
It is what I am worthy of.
Not to be saved.
Not to be escaped.
Unworthy am I.
Praying Jesus will forgive me,
And remember me when I die.
