The Struggle Poem by Panda Broussard

The Struggle

Wraps tight the dark,
Consuming all spark.

Ice crunching, wind whirling.
Heart pounding.

Suffocating, the air,
Numbing the care.

Then at once, a slice,
Dives through the thin ice.

Pushed up, forward reveling,
Higher and faster, pulling, seeing.

Once, the air, was thought to be gone,
Now inhaled, a need to belong.

This fight for life can not end!
Tempt fate's strong will, bend!

Oh time, to have more to play!
Show the darkness who rules this day.

For evil lurks below for scores,
Pulling and slipping, stopping the cure.

Hands hard grabbing and panting more.
Great the defeat, now reaching the shore.
