All That Travelled That Path Poem by Emmanuel Joseph Olumakiss

All That Travelled That Path

Listen to me my children!
Here isn't our settlement
Remember someday life will stop

I tell you be wise now you're tender!
Don't wait till you grow older
For this world is a stage

Many would come to you with different task
Pretending to put you on
Even them that want you dead

Be wise don't wait till you're out of age
And do not live like the blind
So your labor won't be in vain

Your worst enemy isn't yourself?
Is it only the one that want you dead?
Could it be not having a plan for yourself?

Do not rely in all you've got
Fleeing from the one that give you life
For all that have travelled that path

Have been relieved of all they have.
