All The Same Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

All The Same

All the same

Hey friends, relatives,
Hey, the ones fast asleep,
Hey those with jealousy,
Allow me to speak.

I, for now, am under Maple Leaf;
-on a land, which has seen and has been
-involved in many acts, brutal and
-no doubt, a lot of great things!

Too many have been killed
-when blamed for the sins
-they never committed!
-This happened because of the rulers
-or those who worked for them.
- (All lazy, or mad with blindness!)

Some of such men's crimes
-have surfaced by the time
-and mentioned "If only…"

Government has paid to compensate
-for head tax of Chinese
- (who were the backbone of our railroad,)
-and many in colours (None-White in Canada.)

I laugh loud when read of:
- "Edie Jordan was hung for piracy, "
-makes me ask: "What about Spanish, Portuguese
-as well as British (and others with their ships)
-who looted all the world (Asia, Africa to Andes?) "

Hey people, my friends, family
-I live where the whales and First Nations are killed,
-and, buffaloes and beavers, for their oil, land, skin
-to give light to the roads, streets or cottage, palaces,
-and ladies, to cover their skin…
-in Quebec, Montreal; in the eighteen fifteen.

I live where shame and fame are mixed as
-was where I come from, Fesharak, in Iran.
