All Time Is Dangerous Poem by Effie Yalena Steyn

All Time Is Dangerous

Rating: 5.0

Ivy:

All time is white with you
For all time is black without.
You, my ray of sunshine
Can give and take away.

There is nothing I can do but let you walk
Never for me, and only because of you
I watch and follow and wait and play games and lurk beneath your window
Smiles play robbers in my head as you let go.

Deafening bland and fearful, I see your eyes.
There is no hate in the looking-glasses,
Of the sea
Of the sky
Of your mind.
You beckon me with laughter and musk to rise.

I accept your twelve labours, Eurystheus,
And I'll take his hand in union too.
I'll take the world on blindfolded, deaf and bound,
And fight all I can for you.

You are my single starfall
May dance, rain kiss, bite, maul, sink, fall
Presenting a pleasant surprise.
You are a circle of confusion bound, bittersweet with paradoxes.
Your mind sees what it wants to,
Though decades of decadence have warned it not to.

There is no hope in this mess we have, hate ourselves in
But the sweet new dawn of each potential day.
The silence of the guns is churning now
Burning now, like a silk symphony you cover me
With protestation and adulation.

I'll take your twelve challenges, Eurystheus.
Win all- and one more.
