All Your Tears - Poem #1 From The Secret Drawer

Rating: 3.5

Give me all your tears
gypsy
in a gilded chalice
your tears
and your sweat
infused with your
hurt and despair and grief
All of your heart aching
uncertainty and fear.
Give me that cocktail
gypsy
crafted long and painstakingly
from this
your sojourn
in this body
on this blue dot
I lift the vessel to my lips
drink it down
and breathe
Breathe in
Breathe out
til all of that
anguish and torment
and self doubt
disperse
into sweet, strong,
Empowering breath.
And with this breath.
on my lips
shall I kiss you.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I found a secret drawer at my favorite cafe a while ago. It's just a drawer in one of the tables and people stick notes and things in there. So the other day I opened it and pulled out a tiny piece of paper. It had one sentence on it, so I used it to start this poem. I plan to go back and find more such gems. So I'm calling this series of poetry "from the secret drawer"
