Alone, Once Again … Poem by Bharat Trivedi

Alone, Once Again …

Rating: 5.0

When your thoughts glide like a stately swan
in the lake of my emerald memories,
every day, my eyes laced with
silken sleep and chiselled marble dreams
search for something,
while standing near the tranquil horizon
I watch the melted evening’s golden orange lava
blending with the dark waters of the dusk.

When our thirsty eyes met
crystal goblets clank with intoxication
and my heartbeats staggered like a drunkard,
while frozen kisses thawed
in the warmth of the candle-lit romantic dinners
and our sheer sizzling shadows waltzed
throughout the night!

When the fish-eyed mermaid
shuts the oyster-lips of night
my flute breathes out our favourite melody
and dampens my sultry eyes,
we part to become strangers again
as your soul leaves my body,
I hear that stony silence screaming
and blinded by tears,
I turn my face to hide the hurt of my smiling scars!
Alas, I and my solitude
tread on the deserted path
alone, once again…

A poignant reminder of something that once was, this beautiful melodious painful verse of your becoming alone once again, brought out the tears that stand on the threshold of suffering. Thank you, arya. You write amazingly...arya
