Always On The Run Poem by Ray Hansell

Always On The Run

I'm always running
But getting no where
Living life on the run
With worries but no care

I'm indebted to no one
So I keep moving on
Living life always running
Until the day is gone

At night I find a motel
Just me and a bottle of Jack
Living life with no regrets
Never looking back

This life that I'm living
Is the life That I chose
Who I am and where I go
Nobody really knows

A long time ago
I left my past behind
Took off for the road
Not knowing what I'd find

But evey town I've been in
I find no satisfaction
I have to keep on moving
No time for relaxing

Looking over my shoulder
Where ever I go
Who's there behind me
I must always know

The law wants to find me
For the things that I've done
So you see that's the reason
I must always be on the run
