Am I Pretty Poem by Celeste Rose

Am I Pretty

Sometimes I feel trapped in my own body

Nowhere to turn and nowhere to go

Sometimes I fear I'll never get better

Sometimes I try an believe I will

I'm covered in scars from head to toe

No more dresses no short clothes

When will this end

It keeps happening over and over again

When will I make amends

With my soul

My one goal

To be beautiful

Sounds like a foreign word to me

I am so lost can't see that maybe, I am pretty

Nope, won't believe it

CAN'T!

The self hatred keeps going on

Next It's my eyes,

Then my hair.

Again feeling so lost

Putting my worth at a cost

When will I be able to not measure who I am by the size of my waist

When will I be confident

Have this self hatred erased

I fear the answer

Am I pretty or not?

Social media begs to differ

When will I see who I'm meant to be

A girl who's just scared to say

I am pretty
