Amazing Goddess Of Nature Poem by Francis Duggan

Amazing Goddess Of Nature

Amazing Goddess of Nature your praises I must sing
With each of your four Seasons a weather change you bring
In your wild and Natural garden the birds sing every day
And whilst you will live forevermore of life ours is a brief stay.

From your lake in the valley your ever babbling rill
Flows down to meet your river at the bottom of the hill
On it's journey to the ocean it slowly winds it's way along
By hedgerows and through woodland singing it's familiar song.

Amazing Goddess of Nature the poets have sung your praise
Of your everlasting beauty in their poems and odes and lays
And the artists have sketched your Seasonal lanscapes to hang on their gallery wall
The colours of the Winter and the Spring months and the Summer and the Fall.

The members of the World's religions to the God of their choice pray
But amazing Goddess of Nature homage to you I will pay
I often hear you softly whistling in the gentle freshening breeze
In your leafy woodland on the hill in the branches of your trees.

Since the very birth of Humankind billions of people have come and gone
But we are only mortal and you keep living on
And amazing Goddess of Nature each day a new lesson from you I learn
And I too like all of the others to you one day will return.
