An African Life Poem by Ama Alma Okigbo

An African Life

Rating: 5.0

An African life! What someone would hear but not see
When someone would cry but not scream
Oh, an African life
What have we become?

An African life! You would hear a gunshot but see no gun
The fear of Tranbonia has not begun
The fear of the place makes one's life gone
The suspense in the world would make the air dry
Oh, an African life
What have we become?

An African life! The poverty that goes by
The crime that treats the sky
But hunger can never cry
Oh, an African life
What have we become?
