An American Poet Poem by Frank Sheehan

An American Poet

Rating: 5.0

I am an American Poet
coming from a long line
of creatively challenged
penmen and women

A Poet Prince
relinquishing the earthly flow
of jobs and declarations
while punishing establishments,

organizations that diminish
the fabulous outpouring.
A lifeline for civilizations
delinquents, rascals

American in the utmost
free, enlightened, enhanced
superlatives abound
circumstantial relevance

reversed by recluses
forever, today, tomorrow.
Effervescence manifested
by a patriotic actuality.
