An Artificial Love Poem by Bireswar Halder

An Artificial Love

In the spring trees new tender leaves sprout
Wearing a verdant look, it's the cycle of nature
Cuckoo's sweet songs bring a new joy in my heart
I feel thrilled and romantic for a lovely meeting with my love.

What's a true love, its nature, I don't know
But I do know how to love selflessly, deeply
And it makes me complete devoted like a worshipper
Who offers life silently and secretly to achieve goal.

In every moment I introspect her face in my heart
In every breath I chant her name with shedding tears
It seems she is in all my veins, muscle and nerves
Its really very difficult to live in as she is my heartbeat.

Maybe I am not financially strong enough to satisfy her all desires
Maybe I am not aware what does she like the most
I have nothing more to offer except my true love for her
Which could have built a heaven to live together peacefully.

The dreamland I built once has broken into pieces
Today I'm alone, only alone with her scattered memories
I know she will never come back to my life again
As she is sole property of a rich rivalry, leaving me alone.
