An Autumn In A Leaf’s Life Poem by Kavitha Krishnamurthy

An Autumn In A Leaf’s Life

Rating: 5.0

A burgeoning leaf, part of a grand tree
Surrounded by my comrades, a big happy family
So much elation, life was an endowment
Buttress from my pals had heightened my spirit
I was geared up to endure any challenge
I knew that soon the autumn would arrive
Totally geared up and ready for the fight back
I was determined to defy the providence
I felt a chilly gust, marking the imminent of autumn
The gust transformed into a vigorous storm
There was snow cap surrounding the horizon
Making me shudder, freezing my soul
But I was dogged not to relinquish
I lingered with all my might abiding all my pain
One by one all my companions renounced
But I was there still resolute that I would thrive
Then there came the spring as a herald of my triumph
My surrounding was rejuvenated sharing my delight
Now I can say, do not quit, you would make it some day
