An Awakening Poem by Timothy McPoetry

An Awakening

Rating: 4.5

I float amid clouds
I wander freely amid thoughts and un-thoughts
Memories hopes and consciousness intersect

Flying on the gilded wings of a pegasus
Catching moonbeams in a jar
Free-falling from a skyscraper

BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ
RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE

At once my pseudo reality crashes all around me
I am now restrained in a small cabin traveling at high speeds
Where am I? Is this reality or a dream?

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Though the American highway system is world-class, I could go without the warning part of the shoulder of the road that makes the buzzing sound to warn you that your are on the shoulder of the road. It scares me when I'm sleeping! God Bless America.

Good diction, lovely piece well brought forth. I envy your patriotic spirit which is well manifested in your poems. Thanks for sharing Timothy.
