An 'F' For Fundamentalism Poem by Manager Poet

An 'F' For Fundamentalism

Jesus said the earth shall be inherited by the meek.
Does meek mean church attendance three times a week?
We know it’s not our job to judge but so many just do.
If you know a fundamentalist of any kind, is this not true?

My relationship with God is personal and Bible based.
The Bible supplies knowledge that cannot be replaced.
I believe God prefers a living relationship to one in a book.
Understanding the meaning of love, for me, is all it took.

I find fundamentalism's control frustrating from the very core.
Legalists are behind man made rules and regulations galore.
Jesus came to give us freedom from man's regulations and rules.
However, if you ignore the scripture, you miss God's written jewels.

Do you fear how you will be judged at the end of what we call life?
Think about Kind David when he took another man's wife?
King David repented, yet discipline from God he did not escape.
Remember, God’s love clothed this sinner with a beautiful crimson cape.

Fundamentalists love to debate, even with a with a fence post.
Knowing and belonging to Jesus in the end matters the most.
Love those fundamentalists wherever they may be in your life.
Heaven knows, a life lived in fear is one filled with strife.
