An Imitation Poem by michael Smajda

An Imitation

God made for me this pair of ears
To hear His word throughout my years.
And gave me eyes to keep in sight
That I am here to do but right.
And left me with a mouth to speak
Of love and peace all through the week.
A brain to know what is right from wrong,
To think good thoughts the whole day long.
He blessed me with a pointed nose
To ward off sin where my head goes.
My face, though made of sin and bone
Is patterned so much like His own.
