I could count the grains of sand on the shore,
Through a straw, I could drink the sea dry,
But never could I stop loving you,
If commanded, I could not comply
I could move a mountain that blocked your view,
I could rearrange stars in the sky,
But never could I stop loving you,
It would be foolish for me to try
I could change the song of the birds at dawn,
I could dance on the flames of the sun,
But never could I stop loving you,
Certain deeds simply cannot be done
I could walk on water to come to you,
I could do anything that you ask,
But never could I stop loving you,
That would be an impossible task
Hell's bells. Are you related to Jesus? ? ? [ I could walk on water to come to you, ] I doubt I could improve on this effort of yours; it's supreme. But I'll offer up somethin'. bri ;) : )
Dancing on the surface of the sun, counting grains of sand, drinking the sea dry through a straw...and so on. Such great imagination to show how powerful love can be. I really enjoyed this masterpiece.
I see there are 4 poems of the same title on PH. AND, wow, each poet's first name begins with 'L'. ;)
But if he DID, he'd walk all day on COLD water, trying to not, on his feet, HUGE blisters raise! !
Who would dance on the sun! ? Who indeed? Perhaps B. Johnston, to feel the praise?
I can change a diaper, but not a bird's song. If I were told to do it, I'd simply answer: 'Why? '

My math ain't real good, my stomach's too small. To cease being your friend, I'll never ever try.
