An Inch Too Deep Poem by jimmy manganda

An Inch Too Deep

Rating: 5.0

It started like a game, like children in the park,
She spoke and he spoke and then there was that spark,
Her voice sang songs to his ears and to his heart,
He said if she was his, they would never be apart

Her eyes spit arrows that strike his heart beat,
She smiles like Christmas, he'd put her smiles on repeat,
She's addictive like warm and humid summer nights,
She's special like rainy days that still shine with the sun so bright

She has the body and goddess and the mind of a queen,
She has a heart like sea water, like non he has ever seen,
She commands her surroundings; she leaves him wanting more,
He's dazed and confused; she shakes him to the core

She's a real man's dream, he sees her as his own,
He's a king in his world, and she's a queen of her own,
Her confidence is that of her a tigress in her world,
He wants to treat her like gold, let her happiness unfurl

He wants to protect her from this crazy and twisted world,
Guard her every inch and make her fly like a bird,
He wishes to hold her and kiss those heavenly lips,
Caress her every inch, from her head to her hips

Like a serpent guarding her eggs, he'd protect her from all harm,
Precious like a spring sunset, her voice so full of charm,
He wants her and he sometimes feel like it's her he needs,
The three worded phrase creeps in his mind like a thief

He asks if he's in too deep for his own good,
Her personality unmatched, to his soul it's like food,
He hopes that someday somehow she'll understand,
She completes him and turns him from a boy to a real man

For you,
