An Old Man's Coon Poem by Bill Grace

An Old Man's Coon

Rating: 5.0

A broken raccoon has come to live with us
has joined the family of two outside cats
so far there do not seem to be any spats
he - or is it she - moves slow
and is almost at a point
that knows danger is not near
if rabies were only a justified fear
I would have to kill or remove the creature
but just old and slow
I at last understand
let the critter share the cat food
death is not in demand.
