An Unfulfilling Love Poem by Laura Kae

An Unfulfilling Love

Together, alas, but still alone.
The moon is full, but my soul is empty.
In what do I seek thee, to what depth?
My purpose lies in the horizon,
Not knowing whether the sun will rise or set upon it.
I am plagued by my fears,
Torn by my distrust.
And I am left to wonder whether my fate lies with another.
The flame still lingers…
And maybe this is what life cares to offer me at this moment.
Perhaps I should accept without question.
But the fire inside grows dim…
