An Unkept Request Poem by Namita Rani Panda

An Unkept Request

" Please sleep a little longer with me Mom
Why do you get up so early at dawn? "

" Don't worry I'm around here my little princess,
Won't you love to relish delicious dishes? "

" Why don't you come and dine with us Mom?
Toiling harder you're since the morn? "

"Serving you all is my only satisfaction
Your happiness is my only concern."

" Let's go out for a picture or dinner,
Within the four walls you're confined ever."

" My home is my heaven dear,
doing daily chores is my only pleasure! "

" Like a clock you sprint day and night
Reserve for you a few minutes at least."

"Surely dear when you grow up older,
I will retire and have a peaceful slumber."

But in her eyes I ever remained a child
Till her ultimate slumber she continued sprinting in her field!
