Analyzing The Election Poem by Donal Mahoney

Analyzing The Election

A drunk on the subway
tells another drunk something
a bartender told him.

He says if the rich guy wins,
it will be the first time
in the history of America

a white billionaire has
moved into public housing
vacated by a black family.

The first drunk says this
might be a good reason
to vote for the rich guy.

The other drunk says
it's the only reason
he's heard so far.

Very, very, very funny! At least one thing (this poem!) enjoyable has come out of this astonishingly miserable election campaign.
