And I Go On Poem by Cordell Rich

And I Go On

You spill into my dreams,
Intrude into my days.
You come into my thoughts,
A pause in the cold wind.
Then you are gone again.
And the cold wind bites
The hard winds blow,
And I go on.

Beautifully structured and focused. The memory of a loss enters consciousness as a cold wind. All but the chill fades.
