I’d rather have Jesus
And silver and gold
For how can I help
A friend if I’m cold?
I’d rather have Jesus
With houses and land
I could fix up a few
Give the homeless a hand
I’d rather have Jesus
Plus worldwide fame
I could strew even more
His lovely heart and name
Yes, I’d rather have Jesus
With thing after thing
For the more I can afford
The more time for my Lord.
