And You Just Walked By Poem by Jim Butler

And You Just Walked By

Can't you see inside her?
A broken past
Secrets unrevealed
A longing for more?

And you just walked by.

Do you see right through her?
Past the smiling face
The glowing eyes
The crooked smile?

And you just walked by.

A beautiful cover
filled with pages of Broken words.
She only waits for someone,
Anyone to notice.

Still you just walk by.

Tonight could be it,
the light may go out.
Perhaps on the other side
is a life worth the living.

And you just walk by.

Love is her friend,
one she has never met.
Will she find it,
Before the end?

Yet for now she sits,
torn inside,
Wearing the mask
of a happy life.

And you just walked by.
