Anderson Poem by Nzingha Musa

Anderson

Rating: 3.5

You drive me up the wall.
You move me outside my box.
You send me on long journeys through my thoughts.
You call me back when I'm in- too deep.
You wish I was different.
You force me into your space.
You ask me to win for losing.
You question my motives.
You falter when I speak.
You quake at my touch.
You sing to my tune.
You run from my ways.
You cherish in my thoughts.
You distance yourself from me.
You batter me with your words.
You cling to me with your eyes.
You hold me in your arms.
You listen as I die.
You rejoice when I live again.
You carry me through closed doors.
You join me in joys.
You breathe the air inside me.
You build your fire from my branches.
You change your style in my soul.
You find your answers in my question.
You confuse my wariness with fear.
You war with my detachment.
You see the shaded pieces and don't look away.
You marry me in your mind.
You shoot me down.
You talk loud enough to tear this veil.
You go where I cannot reach.
You cry out my name.
But, you seal me in my cage.
It's a perfect relationship.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I suppose I was inspired by the thought that the best loves of your life are the ones where you are most at war within yourself while simultaneously being as peaceful as you can be.

'' It's a perfect relationship. '' In Italy we say: 'basta accontentarsi'.. ;) LIFE = a whole of contradictions.. worthy to be lived.. 'just settle' ;) Thanks for sharing, Nzingha.. Welcome at P.H. and.. keep on writing Ciao
