Anesthesia Poem by Aiden Florence

Anesthesia

One sentence at a time
It glimmers and fades
No power sustains
In a conversation so mundane

It's something worth mourning
Or I'm just loathing
This life
I can't enjoy

What happened here?
Where are you?
It's so apathetic
I don't know where to begin

Search for a lost cause?
Try to satisfy your life?
Where do you get this idea
That I exist to be your lover

I don't want you
Or maybe I do
Or maybe I just can't stand the fact
That I can't be who you want me to be

Life?
Love?
Loyalty?

I fail at everything
