Angel Poem by Hannah Blair

Angel

An angel came to me this afternoon
His voice like wind chimes under the moon

He spoke not to me but to my heart
His words urged me to a new start

I wanted to ask him a question
About the change in direction

But i didn't dare
for the fear i couldn't bear

To loose the biggest blessing ever givin to me
That blessing was as simple as could be

The blessing of time with an angel

I was in a trance, my body went numb
It was something I never wanted to be released from

I wondered why he came to me?
Whatever the reason, he had the key

To my love forever
It would always be his, no one else never

I foregot what he had said
my thoughts told me I was dead

I had made it to heaven after all
But all of a sudden I began to fall

I slipped and tumbled to the hard ground
Was this the Earth i had found?

My angel dissapeared into the dark
Nothing of him left, only in my heart

I began to sob
my heart began to throb

I wanted to drown in my tears
death was no longer one of my fears

My only option was to die

But then his words connected
He had told me i was his protected

he wanted me to start a journey of my own
And when my journey ended he would welcome me home

An angel came to me this afternoon
His voice like wind chimes under the moon

And when my journey does end
my angel will agian decend

He will pick me up and we will fly
up forever into the sky
